Practical resources such as magnifiers, models, and recording tools support learners to document their findings and build their understanding. Learners begin to use basic scientific vocabulary and work more independently across familiar contexts.
Enquire & Beyond
Science in this pathway promotes independent enquiry, problem-solving and evaluation. Learners plan and conduct investigations, analyse outcomes, and apply learning to functional and vocational topics such as health, the environment, and chemical changes. Using structured methods, scientific equipment, and written/visual recording, learners make reasoned predictions and decisions based on evidence. Science supports wider curriculum goals including preparation for adulthood and accreditation, with a strong focus on reflective, purposeful learning.
